Saint John of God Hospitaller Services

Services for
people with autism

These services are supported living services aimed specifically for people on the autistic spectrum where skilled staff who understand the specific needs of autism and Asperger syndrome are on hand 24-hours a day offering support for independent living.

Accommodation is provided in everyday housing in the community with each person having their own bedroom and sharing other areas in the house like lounge, kitchen, dining areas and gardens.

People are encouraged and supported to be involved in all aspects of the running of their home but in a way that minimises pressure to avoid feeling overloaded with choices and responsibility. Staff will encourage each person to be involved in creative ways and to the extent they are able, or wish to be.

We see the uniqueness in everyone and support people to take every opportunity life has to offer.
